The main goal of the 4-year project (2013-2016) is development of integrated management system for protected territories in the transboudary region of Northern Tien Shan in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. The project is implemented by Nature and biodiversity conservation union of Germany (NABU), “Avalon” PF and Association for the conservation of biodiversity of Kazakhstan (ACBK) with the financial support of Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany (BMZ).

The project is aimed at the development of community-based and ecological tourism in Karaganda region. Since august 2010 it has been implemented by "Avalon" Public Foundation in cooperation with Karaganda Ecological Museum and "Nomadic Travel Kazakhstan" travel company with the financial support from GEF/UNDP Small grants programme. At the moment the second phase of the project is in the process of implementation.

At present Society is engaged in arranging Kazakhstan guide-book 'Avalon Kazakhstan Guide-book', for publishing. This book will be the first, written in English that will narrate about our country, in the way that it will be easy for a foreigner to understand, the book will combine both practical and cognitive information with maximum of self-descriptiveness and trustworthiness (to find more information see the section 'Kazakhstan Guide-book').
'China-Southwest 2007' expedition
In January, 2007 the Society started preparing to the bicycle expedition ‘China – Southwest 2007’ which is expected to take place in August-September, 2007 and cover the lands of Sichuan and Yunnan provinces of the People’s Republic of China.
