"DISCOVERY KAZAKHSTAN" MAGAZINE

At the 8th Kazakhstan International Tourism & Travel fair "Tourism and travel" (KITF-2008), held in Almaty between April 24 and 26, 2008, presentation of the first number of the "Discovery Kazakhstan" magazine took place. See photos >>

Current edition, published in English language, is a fruit of the team-work of Avalon Historico-geographical Society (Kazakhstan), Avalon Public Foundation (Kazakhstan) and Silk Road Media publishing house (Uzbekistan - Great Britain).

We've tried to make the first number of our magazine as much as possible multifarious, in order to show in actual fact that Kazakhstan might be interesting for any traveler and tourist. You will be able to read about ancient cities of southern Kazakhstan, such as Turkestan and Otrar, make a trip along Kazakh segments of the Silk Road, make a tour of our two capitals, Astana, being an official capital, and Almaty, being unofficial southern capital, visit the mountains of the Jungar Alatau and the Altai, as well as follow a Norwegian cyclist along the northern Priaralye and familiarize yourself with archeological routs of central Kazakhstan. You will be able to walk around the unique ecological museum in Karaganda and go fishing in the river Ural, whereas the landscapes of the Caspian Sea and Borovoye resort will fascinate you so much, that you'll have a wish to see them with your own eyes...

Everything this, as well as a lot of pieces of various interesting information, devoted to history, geography, nature and customs of Kazakhstan, is included in the first issue of Discovery Kazakhstan magazine, which you can purchase at the Silk Road Media company bookshop.

Some part of information for the magazine was taken from the electronic guidebook "Avalon Kazakhstan eBook", created by Avalon Historico-geographical Society (by the way, at the end of May 2008 appearance of the regular fourth version of the guidebook is planned).
