CITY CENTRE (13 KM, 5 HOURS)

If you wish to take this route you will see all the most interesting tourist sights located in the central part of Karaganda city, its so-called “new town”. The route starts at the Cascade of fountains and briefly goes through the Central park area, passing Ferris wheel. We advise you to ride on it and get to the top in order to see panorama of the city. Then you will ride along the oldest streets of the new town, which are of particular interest due to their architecture, namely Chkalov street, Lenin avenue and Mira boulevard. Upon returning to Bukhar-Zhyrau avenue, you will have a chance to see the two most important symbols of the city standing opposite each other, namely Miners’ Glory monument and Miners’ Palace of Culture. Later on the route will go through the new Independence square. Afterwards you may visit the Museum of History and Local Lore as well as the Eternal Flame memorial complex. Then the route will go along Gogol street and later turn to Nurken Abdirov avenue. By the way, at the crossing of the two streets you will see a huge mosaic depicting Yuriy Gagarin at the sidewall of a nine-storey house. Upon arriving at Nurken Abdirov avenue, you could take a break and have a bite in one of the numerous summer cafes located there. Finally you will ride from Nurken Abdirov avenue to the starting point of the tour, Cascade of fountains. At the end of the trip you may pay a visit to Karaganda Ecological Museum located nearby.
